Door latch assembly

Possibly a dumb question,
I’m replacing my door latch rod assembly, every video I have watched states it’s necessary to remove the window and window assembly first. From looking at the door latch assembly I don’t see any reason to remove the window and window actuator. Can anyone shed some light on this , also any tips and tricks for completing this job would be appreciated.

Re: Door latch assembly

No need to remove the window. Crank it to where it’s out of the way.
I use a small flashlight that I put into the bottom inside the door. Makes it easier to see in there. It helps light up the cavity.
And a small mirror helps.
