60 GMC Stepside - old family farm truck

Hey all,
i wanted to share my running project truck with you all. This was bought new by my grandpa as his farm truck. He was walnut farmer and it was stored inside mostly.

My dad in retirement wanted a project so he picked it up and did a lot of work to it:
New Crate V8 motor
Glasspack muffler with electronic cut-off bypass (toggle switch that takes sound level from Hybrid to Harley real quick)
conversion to disc brakes
new bench interior
front was lowered
switched from 3 on the tree to a floor shifter (automatic)

My dad has since passed so i have taken it over. I'm trying to drive it weekly and have been taking it on Home Depot runs and for taking my kids in it for little neighborhood errands. They love it and call it "Old Blue", hence my handle. Plans to maybe lower the back stance, not bag it, but keep a static drop that looks good all around. Also got to fix some odds and ends on the truck. i dig the beat-up veneer i'm not sure i want to change that.

Enjoy the pics. i've already found a lot of good info on these forums.

(last 2 pics are my own mod i came up with - flip up cupholders which work great!. They hold my coffee in place on turns even, have adjustable arms, and can even hold my UE megaboom bluetooth speaker, which takes care of my stereo system for now. I also put some super strong magnets behind the dash so my phone sits there hands-free)

LOL, your pictures are huge!!!.....BUT Awesome!!!!

So, do you have any plans to do work to the family heirloom?

If it were mine, I would not touch the outside, or ride height, they are only original once. The mod's you Dad performed are good by me...
Power steering and AC would make your pickup perfect!!!

I'd like to see a picture of the seat that your Dad had done...
