GMC 3100 one ton ball joints
Hi I'm newer to the site and hope I'm posting properly, my question is I have a 67 one ton GMC and the upper lower and tie rod joints are all original with the rivited style still there. I had all of them apart this weekend to get my springs out and they all felt tight and still good but should I change them due to the fact there old and if I do need to change them what brand and part number for a one ton I can't seem to find the proper ball joint for a 67 one ton. Thanks for any help at all.

Yes, you are posting just fine! Here's a link to ball joints for a 67 C3500 at Rock Auto.

For Tie Rod ends, sleeves, etc - close the suspension section and open the steering section and you'll see several options. If the ball joints are tight, they probably don't "need" to be replaced, but it's still not a bad idea. Can you tell if they have been replaced before? (probably have). If they are tight, I'd decide based on crusty factor... Can't hurt to replace them though - same for steering components. Is your steering sloppy? Btw, the GMC 1 ton is a 3500, 3100 is an older era term for a 1/2 ton. |

Dam your right I was looking at a 1952 3100 on cl all morning and messed up on my posting. And yes they are all still the originals the top still has the factory rivits holding it in and they all seemed great not worn or loose if anything they where on the right side when I went to move the ball in the socket it took a little effort,they where not flopping around. Also I was wondering if anyone has ever done this, I would like to take my 1967 one ton suspension and convert it to drop spindles and disk brake setup. I know Western chassis makes a drop spindles for a one ton 1973 and newer but I don't know what brake parts to buy or ball joints to make them work with my factory a arms and stuff I want disk brakes and a 2.5 or 3 inch drop spindles and have a one ton rating still. Any ideas or info if you have done this would be awesome

Swap over your 4 ball joints and ALL the steering linkage to the 73+ stuff. It will all bolt in. Best to find a donor truck at the junkyard. 73-87 parts are the ones you want.
Grab the power steering stuff too, you’ll probably have to clearance the frame since it’s a 67 but it’s worth getting the whole shootin match. Do some searches on this site and you will find all the info.
