ordering a tach soon....

i dont know what to get!! i need to get an autometer one so that it works with all my msd stuff, but.....

do i get a 3 3/4" pedastal tach, or a 5" in dash tach with a seperate pedastal mount?

i wanna get a 5" one since thats what i'll need to use for my gauge cluster(when ever i get around to doing one) but it will look funny to me putting a 5" tach up on the top of the dash.

if i get the smaller one, i wont beable to use it later on.

if i were to get the msd tach adapter, i wouldnt beable to sale it to anyone with out a magnetic pickup dizzy later on.

SO MANY CHOICES!!

Dude get the 5 inch. Nice big and clear. I would put it in the left corner on the dash.

I have a 3.75" AutoMeter AutoGuage Tach, and it's PLENTY big for me.

But I can definately see where you're coming from, because in the future (someday) I will be doing the guage cluster conversion using all Phantom Series guages, so I will have to be buying a different tach then. It's a hard choice for you, because you have to get a tach SPECIFICALLY designed for the MSD stuff...desicions, desicions, desicions....

I would get the smaller one Eric. 5" tach atop the dash look goofy to me. Not only that, but if you get a 5" "in dash" model, the backside will look fugly while it is mounted up there...they are finished differently I believe compared to the non "in dash" models. If you buy the smaller one, you can mount it easier, and you can always re-sell it (not "sale it" ) down the road when you are ready to do your complete gauge swap.
