Mel, just curious if you have seen fine thread bolts for these hooks? I have 2 sets of fine thread bolts that both came from 72 extreme bend hooks without part numbers on them. They appeared original yet.

Hi Eric, yes we have came across the fine thread mounting bolts. We have pulled a "couple" of these old rusty hooks off of trucks over the years and have yet to figure out the mounting bolts and after seeing so many different variances, IMHO they used what they had available/on hand in the bolt bin. Have personally seen bolts from OE V76 optioned trucks ranging from 2-1/2" to 3" long in both 5/8"-11NC and 5/8"-18NF threads and with a whole bunch of different head markings. I cannot confirm your above remark on 72's using specifically "fine" threads as the 72 only set on my blazer (personally removed from a V76 optioned blazer by me) have the original 2-1/2 long x 5/8"-11NC mounting bolts all with matching heads showing six lines for grade eight class. On the same fine thread subject, the two below pictured 2-1/2" long x 5/8"-18NF grade five bolts were on a 69-72 style tow hook from a 71 K/10. Mel

Here is a couple I have here.
I assume they are originals, but after 50 or so years, hard to prove.
