BBC fan shroud

So in my 70 lwb I went from a sbc to a bbc and the fan shroud is way smaller. Does any one know where I can get a fan shroud for cheap? Lmc wants 160$ for the one for the 402. I jacked mine up by cutting it.

Re: BBC fan shroud

Pretty sure the Sb shroud is bigger then the big block. Normally you slide the engine crossmember up to the front 6 cylinder holes for a Big block.

I have both shrouds neither are for sale i will take some measurments and pics tomorrow if you like ....but i should say its the other way around i think th SBC shroud is smaller and you move the engine stands ( not the crossmember)to the forward holes in the frame on a IN6 to a SB not sure of the position on the BB got one of those also ill check that tomorrow hope Im correct on all this if Im wrong Im sure there are others with more knowledge than I

Re: BBC fan shroud

The big block shroud has an opening that goes up higher than the SB shroud. The big block water pump is much higher in the chassis than the small block setup.

You might be able to cobble together something, but in the end I think you will wind up buying a big block shroud. You might get lucky and find a used one where somebody is parting out a truck or LS swapping.

They come up on the parts board every so often. The part # is 3924932, you might check Ebay

Re: BBC fan shroud

Both the small block and big block use the same frame holes. The big block stands are bent back 1.25 or 1.5'' more than the small block.
