Screw size/type for inner rear wheel tub splash shields
Good morning all. Wondering if someone can help me out with the screw type/size that I need (looks like three on each side) to mount my inner rear wheel tub splash shields? I have searched the forum but could not find an answer. Backstory..... I had my truck in a shop and when the did all the disassembly they did not bag and mark all the hardware. UGHHHH!!! I now have the truck (pieces) back and we are putting it back together slowly. I am trying to buy new hardware when needed and then with some of the hardware it is still not that rusty and usable. Unfortunately I don't have a donor truck that I can pull hardware from or refer to for screw size/type etc. Since I am on that topic where is the best place to purchase an assembly manual for the 69 C10? Thanks so much guys. I will try to put together build post for my truck. It has been a work in progress for sometime now but it is coming along slowly.

I think the two top ones are 5/16 bolts and nuts. I installed the ones on the Longhorn a couple of months ago but the holes didn't line up very good so I had to use 1/4" bolts on it. The bottom one uses a clip with the nut attached (J-nut or U-nut) and uses the same type bolt that is used for the front sheet metal. LockDoc LockDoc

Here's a representative splash shield pic from my 72 Blazer build if that helps: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=168
PS - Thanks Leon for the locks and lock work you did for my build

Are the bolts threaded into the sheet metal channel piece for the splash shields or are there J nuts slid over the ends? Hard to tell by the picture. Glad I could help out on the build Pete.... LockDoc

Re: Screw size/type for inner rear wheel tub splash shields
Going by memory, that bracket is threaded to accommodate the captured washer sheet metal screws. I would have depicted the J-nuts if needed as they served as a visual guide for rebuilding. The J-nut shown affixes to the lower, inner rear fender.

Re: Screw size/type for inner rear wheel tub splash shields
Deadhead Thanks so much for the reply and pictures. So apparently I am in need of those two C brackets that attach to the shields. Any idea where I can get my hands on two of them and anyone know what the part number / name may be? I have not been able to find them and unfortunately I don't have any access to a donor vehicle or scrap yards with any C10's near me. Thanks again everyone.

If you need the C-channel brackets I'd pay the $25 yearly member dues needed to post a WTB ad on the parts forum. It's money well spent IMO and I'll bet you'll have luck securing a pair.

Deadhead Thanks and yes I plan on being a paid member soon. In the mean time does anyone know if I need those C brackets for my 69 C10?
