Urgent! Modern Paint Code Needed for Turquoise Poly 510 Metallic

Well I made the mistake of assuming paint code 510 Turquoise Poly wouldn’t be an issue to have mixed up in waterborne paint (Axalta), that is not the case.

Painter sprayed a test card and it’s no looking like a match.

If anybody has had a paint color like this sprayed recently please feel free to share the paint code used.

Re: Modern Paint Code Needed for Turquoise Poly 510 Metallic

Hey RocknRod thanks, I did reference that site for the WA5123 code that my painter used to mix. But this is the color it turned out as.

So I’m looking for other paint codes folks may have used to achieve an accurate Turquoise Poly. I’m gonna head down there tmrw and look through color chips as well.

I saw a 62 Impala (my dream car) recently that color, made me want to paint my truck with that as the base color still using my cream. Great color.

Agreed. I just hate having to pick that color based on a 4” paint sample. 😬

Sorry I can't help you with the proper code for current paints, but that partial shot of the turquoise Suburban grabbed me. Who's truck is that? I must know.

Hey Bruce, he’s on Instagram under the handle gmc_rodder

Hard to believe his burb and your truck are the same color. The burb looks closer to Tampico Turquoise but is indeed a 510 truck.

Lighting has a lot to do with the difference on metallics. A good example is the shot below where the trucks are lined up. The 65 Suburban and 66 C10 are both turquoise. Some age fading and a little direct sunlight on the Burb makes it look like a different color entirely.

Re: Modern Paint Code Needed for Turquoise Poly 510 Metallic

Looks like GM had 2 variations of 510. 1963 it was Crystal Turquoise and looks much more blue. Gonna have painter spray a card and see how that looks.

If anybody has any turquoise paint code they can share it’d mean a lot. I’m running out of time before scheduled paint.

Re: Modern Paint Code Needed for Turquoise Poly 510 Metallic

Paint Code OEM 510(Crystal Turquoise, Metallic) is PPG 43276. I had them mix a single stage spray can to "test", and then went for it. LIGHTING makes a huge difference in the color appearance. It is a beautiful color

Re: Modern Paint Code Needed for Turquoise Poly 510 Metallic

Well as promised, here’s some pics. I’m glad I went with the PPG 43276. It’s not really an accurate example of 510 turquoise, but still a great color. Looks green in dark/shade but blue in the sun. I guess that’s probably all turquoise paints. Stoked to get it on the road.

Awesome ! Glad it worked out for you. I'll send you the paint code for the "vanilla" we used on the tailgate. Nice to see what mine will look like someday !
