KY WTB SBC Cylinder Head 3774684

Want to buy a pair of SBC Cylinder Heads casting number 3774684, they were used on 327 truck engines and 283 other applications. Will take any cast date, prefer
1964. Photos below show typical head casting marks, their are other common casting marks that have the the two verticals hash marks.
Edit- the heads may or not have hole drilled in ends for big truck engine accessories like an air compressor.

As far as I'm aware, others can chime in, there were no threaded holes in the end of the heads as your picture shows.

You’re right. Threade accessory holes didn’t start until 1968. The casting marks on the end is the same though. I have a set of these heads without the accessory holes that I took off a 1967 327 truck engine. I took the engine out of a grain truck and it only had around 46000 miles on it. They have the small 1.74 intake valves and 1.5 exhaust valves.

A little more discussion below on these heads, when installed on a big Truck early 327 engine. These heads were also used on car 283 engines.


Big Truck Appications
Certain of the early big truck 327 engines with these heads have holes drilled in them for truck accessories - like air compressors. Their are different hole paterns depending on accessory being installed at the factory. The big truck hole patterns are not the same as those that started in 68’.
These heads on early big trucks may or not have hole depending on individual big truck needs.

This design of head started being used on engines installed in C10-30 trucks around 1967,
And continued into the 70s. The head casting mark may have changed a little over the years, however, the two hash marks were retained. The head casting number also changed over time.
This specific head casting number was used through around 65 or 66’.

Found a pair of 3795896 and a pair of 3998991 if you can use them. No luck on the 3774684's.

There is one thing about Les he does his home work on his trucks. He wanted a m code 283 for his 1964 truck. I was thinking that wont be so hard a year later I found one for him. If any of you want to look up your block and heads casting numbers go to outintheshop.com
