Headlight switch removal

I found no setscrew to remove the knob from the post so what is the best way to remove the headlight switch after I unscrew the spacer that threads onto the post?

Re: Headlight switch removal

There is no set screw on knob, reach up behind dash with one hand and press a small button on top of switch, while you depress button in pull on knob and the whole shafts will release . Then screw off retainer ring on font and switch will come out of bezel.

Re: Headlight switch removal

If I remember correctly there's a release button on the switch. (Small button with a coil spring under it ) If you push this in and hold it the shaft that the knob is on will pull out of the switch.

Re: Headlight switch removal

Late reply but y'know the headlights come on when you pull out the knob/shaft, right? Battery should be disconnected to prevent draining it....
