Door Glass Channel Guide

My son purchased a weather-strip kit for his door windows. I don't think the weather-strip for the Door Glass Channel Guide was part of the kit he purchased. The old one we took out of the channel fit tight. There are 2 pieces on the kit he purchased that might go into the Glass Channel Guide but they fit real loose. I cant seem to find the proper one weather-strip for Glass the Channel Guide

Thanks,

Here's a link to the complete kit for both doors..
https://www.classicparts.com/1967-72...tinfo/03-617/#

I know it has all the correct parts because I just finished the doors on my '71 with it.. If you want to replace the weather strip on the vent windows, you need a separate kit for those..

Re: Door Glass Channel Guide

RustyPile,

My son purchased his kit from Precision. Here is the link:https://www.prp.com/product/detail/104074 . Attached is the felt I need for this part for the window.

Thanks,

Ramiro

Re: Door Glass Channel Guide

[EDIT] See my edited post. I'm not at all familiar with precision parts, but the Classic Parts of America kit contains each and every piece that's needed to replace all channel felt, inner and outer window sweeps, everything except the rubber weather strip for the vent windows.. With the kit I used, you have to, using a very sharp razor knife, cut the old felt just inside the chrome bead in order to remove the channel felt. The felt is held in with glue.. You have to pull the old felt out, scrape out the old glue and remove any pieces of the old felt.. The replacement felt is then glued in place using a quality weather strip adhesive.. I used 3M..

Re: Door Glass Channel Guide

[EDIT]
I'm sorry, I made a mistake in my previous post.. Those parts in your picture are not the division bars. They are the lower tracks that run at a slight angle down the back side of the door.. Felt strips don't fit in those tracks.. The long rubber strip that starts at the front upper corner of the door frame, continues across the top and makes that sweeping turn down the back is the weather strip that fits in those channels.. You have all the parts you need..

Do a search.. I forget the author of the thread, but there is a thread on this site that explains step by step how to remove and install all the door weather strips..

I was able to find that thread. I believe we have everything we need for the doors. Also was able to see a video on YouTube that showed what actually goes in to the Rear Glass Run channel. Thank you for your help.

71gmcC15 here is the link to the thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...p+installation. I went through every page on the thread. I believe on page 3 there is a link to a YouTube video that shows the assembly of a door.
