31-10.5x15?
I’m needing to replace the tires on my 72 C-10. 235/75/15s. They just look too small in my opinion. For some reason the tires look goofy to me. Would 31-10.5x15 fill the wheel wells more than the current tires I have now. Is a couple of inches going to effect the looks? Is there a better truck tire that fills in more space? Factory height 2 wheel drive. No power steering. Would there be any issues that I would encounter? I’ve searched a bit and not really finding answers.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
I had 265 75 15 on my short step for awhile. They are almost 31 10.5. They dramatically affect your gear ratio and speedometer compared to the stock approximately 28" tall tires.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
Since your 235’s are likely already installed on too narrow (wide) of a rim then you’ll need wider rims too.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
I have run 295-75/R15s on my stock rims for years without any hassles at all. They do a good job of filling the wells, and there is no rub, even at full suspension travel.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
255 70 15 was a popular swap from 235's in the 90's on c1500, Van's, and suburbans, they were 7 inch wheels.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
They are closer to a 275 /75 r15 then a 265 75 r15 I plan on running 31×10.5 r15s on 8 in wide rims and I know it will work just fine. I've seen it before. Even on lowered c10s

Re: 31-10.5x15?
Also have 31 10.5 15 on my Jimmy.
They look great. Believe they will do what you want, fill out the wheel well. My Jimmy has no lift, so should fit your truck. I can't take credit, the last owner put them on. But glad he did because I like the look with them on my Jimmy. If you want some pictures, just PM me you email address, and I will take some pics and send to you. Terry |

Re: 31-10.5x15?
One thing you could do is go to 8" wheels. Since that is the limit on wheel width for that size. That will help 'fill' the wells in one way, just not diameter. If you still want more tire you already have the wider wheels you'd need. With the LT truck sizes, such as 31/10.50, you get into mostly treads looking appropriate for a 4wd. It's nice to run rounded shoulders such as on passenger car size tires. Getting into the 70 series allows some wheel well filling with 255-295s. If you want same size all around you'll probably want 275s for most tire that fits. 255s fit best up front.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
I running 255/ 70/ 15 on 8" rally wheels and they fill in the fenderwells pretty good. I'm also running a 350, th350 trans, and 308 gears with no problem.

Re: 31-10.5x15?
If you are running the stock 5.5" wide rims you could get by with 30x9.5R/15's. They split the difference between the 235's and the 31's.
