HO52/HO72 question
How do I get the oil seal out of the hub? I’m trying to replace them without damaging the inner bearing. I’ve searched through all the Eaton threads I can find on the forum, and I have a chassis manual, and the most detail either has basically says to “pry it out”.

Re: HO52/HO72 question
I have never owned a seal puller. I always knock the race out from the front with a drift punch tapping it around the circumference to work it out.

Re: HO52/HO72 question
Ok good info. The inner bearing has a smaller ID than the seal but I suppose I can tap both out carefully from the front side. Seal puller, genius idea...

Re: HO52/HO72 question
There's just enough lip to set against to tap out. So be careful if you use a drift punch.
