This connector is up behind the glove box on my '68.
is this for a glove box light?
Three wires, Yellow Green and Brown. It is partially melted..

Is your truck an A/C truck?

Yes, AC truck, the connector is "L" shaped, the radio was missing when I bought the truck and there is no original flat radio connector.

I'm not 100% sure but that may be the lead to the blower control relay on an A/C truck. I am pretty sure it isn't the radio lead. I rewired my non-A/C truck and reinstalled the factory radio in my Burban. So the radio wiring I am familiar with the A/C not so much.
Do a search for A/C blower control relay or wiring.

It looks like the AC relay that mounts on the passenger side on the duct work under the dash.

OK, so I found out that the brown wire was added by Bubba the Previous Owner.
The brown wire was stuffed in the connector and poked through the firewall and attached to the blower motor hot lead, Why?? I don't know..

brown wire removed.

all plugs in position on the AC relay,

so I am still looking for where the Green and Yellow connector went originally..

From the service manual. Dark green and yellow wire to the compressor clutch switch. I don't know what the DBL/WS means added to the 16DG. The wire should not be both dark green and dark blue with a white stripe. They labeled the wire more plainly in the 1969 manual, just 14DG.

Sorry I didn't post in this thread earlier. I was confused by your brown wire and didn't see your post #8 last night. No telling why it was stuffed in there -- maybe as a way to power up the A/C compressor instead of replacing a bad switch? Anyway, glad you figured it out!

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
