Long tube headers and Shift lineage ?
So I just installed a 2004r trans behind my sbc 350 with long
Tube headers and I’m having a hard time making my shift linkage work. Anyone have any tips or suggestions . Any pictures ? Thanks |

Re: Long tube headers and Shift lineage ?
Check out what Lokar has to offer. I had a similar issue on a previous truck and this setup worked nice.
https://www.lokar.com/auto-trans-access-parts.html You'll want PN ACA-1800. The website also has detailed instructions.

Re: Long tube headers and Shift lineage ?
So can you bend that rod? Seems like that would hit the header same as mine does.

Re: Long tube headers and Shift lineage ?
I don't think they intend for the rod to be bent but you might be able to tweak it just a bit. Sounds like you have more interference that what I experienced. I was trying to use stock linkage with a set of Hooker Competition Long tubes. The stock linkage would hit the collector when trying to manually pull down into second and first. The Lokar setup moved the pivot point right next to the transmission away from the collector. Do you have a picture of your setup?

Re: Long tube headers and Shift lineage ?
Well I got it to work , good enough .
I was trying to install the link under the exhaust , I ran it over the top of the exhaust and it shifts fine but only P N R oD D but I guess that’s all I really need |
