After 33 years this 69 C10 Custom is moving again

Found this 1969 C10 Custom for sale here locally . It was sold by Daniels Chevrolet in Colorado Springs to the current 82 year old gentlemans father. It was retitled in his name 1978 and driven by him and his son until 1986. The truck hasn't moved in 33 years.

I had to jack the truck up and move dirt under where the wheels had settled 3-4" in the ground. With a few rollers wheels and tires installed, I moved on to getting the parking brake off, the transmission in to neutral and to the steering wheel to get the truck on to my trailer. Both doors and windows were stuck shut. After spraying TFT dry lube on the driver's window seal, and going in through the wing window I was able to get the driver's window down, release the parking brake and put the transmission in neutral. A good part of the day later she finally was on my trailer.

Here's a few pictures. Bed and camper are completely full so I'll be returning to unload everything and pick up a fender and door.

WOW. That interior looks to be preserved well !
Are the dash and steering wheel free of cracks ?
Don’t see that very often, after 50 years
Nice score

Zero cracks in the dash pad. 3-4 small cracks in steering wheel. Windows up and doors closed for 33 years. Used PB Blaster Dry lube on window seals then once the windows were down, PB Blaster penetrating lubricant on the latches. Finally got the windows to roll down and the doors to open!

I bet theres some interesting stuff back in that bed.
Bed and topper were completely full. Front to back and top to bottom. No truck parts except the spare wheel and tire. Everything else was garbage. Old linens, clothes, folding chairs and broken hammers. Who keeps broken hammers? Hoarders I guess.

It's getting the underside blasted with compressed air then pressure washed. Only 2 dormant yellowjacket nests, but hundreds of spiders 🕷. One quarter sized black widow. Once that's done I'll change the engine oil, pull the spark plugs and put some Mystery Oil in ea cylinder, feed it fuel and see if she'll fire.

Very cool! It’s amazing to see some of the trucks that are still around after all these years. The black widows are fun this time of year aren’t they?

Do you suspect it’s 72,xxx original miles or 172?

Reminds me a lot of my most recent 71- wish mine were a 1/2 ton like yours.

I was hoping for something good in the bed, but oh well. At least the bed floor had some protection all those years.

I’ll bet that thing fires right up.
Might need a carb rebuild and some hoses etc
But wouldn’t bet against it running straight up

I love how the northern (cooler climates) are easy on the interior of these old trucks

Keep your progress post coming

Few more. Bed is rust free except the one raised spot just in front of the tailgate. Build sheet is still in the back portion of the seat.
