windshield wiper motor??? what went bad

what went bad with my windshiled wiper mechanism when it wont return automatically to the base of the windshield when turned off... worked yesterday and not today.. it is my 74 with just the basic 2-speed setup w/o delay??? any clue??? OH and any minnesota guys goin to the back the 50's next weekend???

Mike, my 73 did/does the same thing...I just timed it right so it would set the wipers at the base of the windshield when I turned them off. I would guess it is the switch, but who knows.

I am going to the show on Friday, and coming back Sunday for the swap meet.

Check the wiring harness which comes out of the front of the motor assembly (through the black plastic cover), this leads to the park switch, if it comes off the wipers won't park correctly.

My 76 does the same thing. The wipers will stop where they are when I turn off the switch. I just assumed that's what is was supposed to do. If not, I'd like to fix mine too.
