Cruisin the Coast 2019
Im hoping this post is ok here
I've never been to CTC and thinking of taking a day trip down..not to show my truck but to look around and go to the swap meet. Its only a 3 hr drive for me. Some questions the those that have been: 1)is the traffic terrible 2) IS there a C10 area 3) what should I take time out to see? Just curious...thanks in advance. |

Re: Cruisin the Coast 2019
I live here in the area and have gone every year since the beginning.
The traffic on hwy.90 is terrible. It's fairly light at the beginning of the event, but gets progressively worse towards the end.there are other east/west roads that aren't as bad. There is no designated C-10 area. There are a couple of clubs that meet up along the coast.Mississippi C-10 club usually meet around the Longbeach area.Look them up on Facebook. The swapmeet runs from Thursday thru Sunday at the colliseum.$10.00 entry fee.Be prepared to walk a lot. Friday/Saturday night at Edgewater Mall is the best place to be for the all the excitement and cars driving down the beach road(hwy.90) Then ,there is the burnout contests at the casino's.Classic dragracing at Gulfport International Dragway.Flamethrowing contests at another casino.Downtown events for those entered in the show and spectators too. Thousands of cars/trucks and whatever else shows up! I like to find a place on hwy 90 to park and sit and watch the classics drive by.There is a 9:00 P.m. curfew. And,last of all---Don't show off! Almost every stop light along 90 has a camera. You will get a ticket in the mail!Or worse, get stopped and towed. Google Cruzin"The Coast and get the event schedule. And,if you see a 68,Anniversary Special---It's me! Mike. |

Re: Cruisin the Coast 2019
I've been going every year for the last 6 years. It is a great event. I will be in my '56 Belair as I'm still building my C-10. I find the traffic is horrible on Hwy 90 once you get past Gulfport going towards Biloxi. I stay west of that and the traffic is not bad. There will be 10's of thousands of cars there with over 8,000 registered. Swap meet starts Thursday along with the official stamping locations. I believe two must see locations are Ocean Springs and a little further drive to Pascagoula. Beautiful locations. Earlier in the week I always attend the Long Beach Parade on Monday. It's a must attend event for the classic car enthusiast. You won't regret it. Also, plenty of good music and food in that area.

Re: Cruisin the Coast 2019
Pascagoula is my hometown. I now live out in the county.
The show is held at the Beach Park.(Jimmy Buffet Beach) So,take Market Street (south) to Washington Ave.Turn right (east) on Washington Ave. to the park. Ocean Springs is very crowded!the meet is held on Bienville Boulevard.you have to get there very early(before daylight)to find a good spot! As a spectator, parking is bad everywhere! So,plan to walk a lot. Another thing about this event. It isn't just for the high dollar trailer queens! If it runs and drives, bring it! Disclaimer--I am not associated with this event in no way.Just a huge supporter! Mike. |
