Truck bed trailers

Does anyone near Seattle make these to match 67 C10?

Re: Truck bed trailers

Your local high school shop could make you one if you find a donor truck. Just an idea...

Re: Truck bed trailers

That's a very general question that I would answer with "Yes". I couldn't tell you who, but they are home made. They are seen all over the country made locally. I suppose some were made by a welding shop the owner hired. I would think any welding shop could make you one. I don't think there ever has been a business that specializes in making these in any town from any specific model truck

Re: Truck bed trailers

There are a bunch of trailer places in the greater Seattle area. I doubt though they make anything specifically like you are looking for. But with enough money in hand and some measurements ready to go I bet you could get it done.

Over the past 30 years I've probably made a dozen of them.

Re: Truck bed trailers

I’d say you would need a good welding or fabrication shop over a trailer place. Most around here we’re home grown or weld shop projects.

Saw a 68-72 GMC one for sale the other day and was going to stop on my way back but forgot.

Thanks for the replies. Don't have a donor bed. I think I will just advertise a WTB ad and see what comes up. Thanks!

Re: Truck bed trailers

They come up for sale on Craig's List regularly. Most have been used hard but could be a good starting point if your not in a hurry.

Re: Truck bed trailers

Rods, that's super nice! I wouldn't be able to use it, the one thing I abuse is my trailers. I rarely actually use my truck bed, I'm dragging my trailer most of the time.

Findog78, I see you're in cali, your best option might be to find a whole longbed truck for cheap that someone forgot to non op and owes a ton in taxes. You're going to cut it up anyway.

Re: Truck bed trailers

Rod...nice set up. This project is actually for my dad. We both have C10's. I have made one myself about 20 yrs ago which we still have but its rusted out and the saddle bags, springs, shocks, wiring are all shot. Just came back from elk season and he wants a better one to keep "elk camp" stored and travel ready for all year. I need to update my profile as I'm in WA state now.

Re: Truck bed trailers

Funny, this just came up on my local CL. I'm thinking about getting it... for $400, the tailgate may be worth that alone!

Aw man, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to create false hope, I just thought I'd share that they're still out there!

Talking Re: Truck bed trailers

I just pulled the cab off my LWB frame and we are thinking about making either a bed for my grandson out of it are a trailer to match the truck. Haven't decided yet.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

That’s how it started.....I had this super nice short bed and didn’t want to sell it so I figured if I built a matching trailer out of it then maybe I would keep the bed.....once it was done and tools were inside it’s been great I have other trailers but this one is great. Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks.....this was a 66 frame that someone tried to make a trailer out of.

Our 67-72 beds will fit on those year frames. I gave $200 for it chopped the front off. Then extended it with 6” box.

Shell period correct got off Craigslist for $200

I had the bed and the tool box.

Built the rack for a few buck’s maybe $100

I spent the most on the trim....but heck why not......

Point is you could find what you need and build one for very little for what you’ve described your needing.

I just went a bit crazy on mine.....
