Double wall top question
I have a 71 double wall top. There are factory nuts riveted on the inside at the front and back of both side windows. What are they for?

Re: Double wall top question
Mine has a small plate with a large rivnut in it. It looks like the correct size and thread for a seat belt mount. I sure wouldn’t want to count on it for strength.
It may be meant to just hold the belt guide....? Jeff |

Re: Double wall top question
Mine has a plug there on each side. It's almost like some corporate guy asked, "Can we put three-point belts in these?" and some sarcastic engineer said, "Sure, go right ahead..."

Re: Double wall top question
There's another pair in the rear. For backseat shoulder belts.
I have a bolt in it with a snapring on it, holding a canvas tool bag in the back of my Jimmy.

Re: Double wall top question
I’ve seen photos of 69-72 K5’s with lights in those spaces. Not sure if that was the intended use, or if lights were an option, but seems like a good spot for interior lights.

Re: Double wall top question
How rare was the hole for the optional back seat shoulder belt? I haven't seen them in many.

Guess you can only see the top of it in the middle shot. I will have to take a direct subject pic of the feedbag style canvas tool bucket. On the passenger side, there's another bolt I use to tie on those mylar/air-bubble sunscreens. I would guess they're there on all K/5s and K/1500 Jimmys.
