18" rim backspacing

Hey everyone, sorry if this topic has been beaten to death already but I have a rim/backspacing questions. I don't want to screw this up lol.

I'm planning on running 18" wheels on my 69 fleet with a 3.5/5 drop. 99% sure I have the narrower rear end, but I will measure again to make sure. From face of drums I was a little over 62". So my question is what would be ideal backspacing on a 18 x 8 up front and 18 x 9 or 18 x 9.5 in the rear? Thanks in advance.

Re: 18" rim backspacing

I have a 67 fleet. I have 4.5 bs all the way around . I knew this would b safe. I know I can go 4.75 and it will work. I measured after the fact just 2 c how much more I could go. I had the same drop as u. Ive seen guys post that they went 5 inches of bs but I would think the tires would rub if u went that far.

Regardless of what you have, measure, measure, measure!!

There's lots of variables that come into play.
