WTB: 1970 NP205 Transfer Case Shift Lever (Auto Trans version)

I'm looking for an NP205 transfer case shift arm lever specifically for the 1970 model year, used with automatic transmission. Chrome or black is fine. The 1970 shifter arms exited in the center of the high hump, so they were designed with a larger offset at the base of the arm.

The NP205 shifter arms used with manual transmission had a bend to move it more toward the driver and away from the manual transmission shifter. The automatic TC shifter arm is more straight up.

Refer to the attached thread, post #1 (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=800434) to see what an automatic version of a 1970 NP205 shift arm looks like. Thanks for your help.

Here are a few NP205 T/C shift lever pictures to go with your above description, we can offer you the early style OE 69-70 NP205 shift lever with 3/8"-24NF threaded knob end in either chrome plated (#1) or black painted (#2), we also included an OE 71-72 p/s side offset style NP205 shift lever (#3) with the larger 7/16"-20NF knob threads in the pictures for side by comparison/id purposes. Mel, How is the chrome finish on the one? If it doesn't require re-chroming I would be interested. Any close up pictures of questionable areas would be appreciated. Return PM sent. Thanks.

Hi Dan, them first above added pictures do show and represent the chrome CST lever pretty well but here are a few more requested "close up" pictures from several different angles. This CST shift lever overall has a really good shine that I would rate at a solid 8-9, the chrome is not pitted out or flaking anywhere and the only area worth mentioning would be just above the trans tunnel cover where the shift boot was riding/rubbing for years has a duller shine than the rest of lever (see below pics @ arrows), the added pics show this mentioned area well.

Am not sure what else to say besides it's a very nice shift lever, actually a damn nice shift lever when you stop and realize that it is a fifty year old original piece. As for your question about needing "re-chroming" and if talking for show, keep in mind that GM chrome was never show quality when new so that would be entirely up to you. In my opinion, unless you're doing a pebble beach concours type restoration I would install and run the lever as is. Let us know what you decide as these NP205 levers were offered to you first, we have since had two others inquire about the chrome one. Thanks, Mel

Mel, I will take the chrome one. Please let me know how I can pay. Also let me know if you're interested in working a possible trade deal for my manual trans 1970 TC shifter. It's a very nice painted version. If you're not interested, that's fine. I will still take the chrome shift arm.
