Is This A Rare Bed? Please Help!

Board Members, I have a guy that wants to trade me a lwb frame with leaf springs and a bed with a wood floor, it also has the tool box in the side. He says little or no rust and the wood only has a small hole and the spare holder is all there (fleetside), he says it's a 72 chevy with a nice gate and trim. Is he just talkin or is there such a thing? Dean at tnchev M G B Y

If I'm not mistaken, the tool box and the wood floor both were options in '72. Nothing super rare there I'd say, but if the tool box & door are in good shape, it's worth another $100 or so from what I've seen them sell for.

if the toolbox door is rust free, then it would be worth some cash. however, i cant see a wood floor adding or subtracting to a bed's value (when compared to a similar condition steel floor).

My buddy Gary is looking for that box side if it is in great shape. He had a tire shred while doing 60mph and by the time he got stopped the tire totally bashed in his tool box and destroyed the rest of the box side. A real shame because it was a rust-free AZ truck.

Yea, I guess leaf springs would be rare for a 1/2 ton chevy, but standard for GMCs.

even if it was a leaf sprung chevy, it wouldn't affect the value. if i was looking at buying a 1/2 ton 2wd, i'd rather have the coils and trailing arms, but thats just me.
