Quality wiring components
So, I need a 10 gauge #10 ring terminal to connect to my starter. The original eyelet is stout and good quality. I go to the parts houses, Autozone, Advance Auto, Napa, etc. and they're all the same. Cheap, flimsy terminals that can be easily bent with your fingers. Is there anywhere to get good, OEM quality connectors anymore? Any suggestions? I am tired of buying crap. I like the open barrel stuff but nobody carries it near me.

Re: Quality wiring components
Try Del City they have high quality wire, switches, weather pack and Deutsche connectors, all kinds of terminals including the Packard 56 series that GM used in the stock harness connections.

Re: Quality wiring components
Those are a little too industrial for me and too bulky for my application. I am looking for a regular looking ring terminal, just a better quality than what you find at Autozone. I like the open barrel style, like the Packard 56 terminals.

Re: Quality wiring components
I have these in my cart right now after searching through lots of specs and reviews, I think these should be good. Lots of different sizes.

Re: Quality wiring components
Try Mad Electrical
http://www.madelectrical.com I got my stuff from him when I upgraded to internally regulated alternator and built my headlight relay and wiring. He has quality materials and is a great guy to talk to. I explained what I was doing and he steered me in the right direction. I bought an assortment of terminals from him and I can attest to their quality.

Re: Quality wiring components
Our ACE hardware has them in the electrical section. I think 2 in a pack. They have a few sizes. They are crimp style with no insulator. I just use shrink wrap for that. They also have them loose in copper battery-cable style.

Re: Quality wiring components
You can utilize a piece of brass or copper tube. Us the correct size for the wire and flatten and drill the end for the solenoid wire.
You can make them any which way you want. I worked on a farm, some of those fixes lasted for decades. Of course we soldered those ends. Guess you could fab one, any which way you like them! I am farm trucking through this Covid Thing. Last edited by toolboxchev; 03-26-2020 at 01:08 PM. |

Re: Quality wiring components
Go to an electrical supply house or Grainger. Look for StaKon 3M or Panduit brands.
