Welding AD cab seam
Just curious, has anyone welded the seam across the outside rear of the cab on an AD? Mine is a bit rusty in spots and next to impossible to sand or grind it out. I'm not doing a full body and paint on mine, the plan is just a satin black finish but I really don't want rust reappearing annually. I was thinking flux core at low heat might work. Any thoughts?

Re: Welding AD cab seam
I have welded that seam on one of my trucks. It was a lot of work to weld and grind it smooth. If I were to do it again, I would give the seam a careful sandblast, epoxy prime the area, then fill it with a quality filler such as metal to metal. I think this would be way less work with good results. On my present build I just gave the seam a quick sandblast and left it. Just my opinion!

I like that idea. A lot less work for sure.
