Re: My Facetruck thread.

I wish I had a dog about now. Good time to train one.

This is Facetruck and I am here to report on yesterday. For breakfast I had...….…………… my left thumb is hurting in the second knuckle...………………….. neighbor's dog ran across the yard...
… I replaced the cedar shakes and rotted facia on the portico that hangs over the back door here.

So during this pandemic I have my older son and his girlfriend landed here. Late afternoon on the step ladder, all wrapped up in getting finished what I started before suppertime, I pause. My noise stops and I listen. I can hear my neighbor grinding on his '87 K20 out back, the sounds of my younger son hammering, working on his truck closer by in the driveway. And across the drive my son is running a sander, doing woodwork in his van. That was a great moment for me. Doesn't take much, and that did plenty. Just me and my boys being industrious. I got my little roof job done and a shower passed through before dawn, which I was not expecting. It's time to appreciate things we take for granted, in these times. That's for sure

Tim, My left thumb has been hurting in the first knuckle for over a month. I was trying to play guitar for my grandson yesterday and it hurt too bad too play well. At least that's my excuse.

I burned a brush pile yesterday.

second bobcat and a dump truck sped things up quite a bit

besides the block wall footings set at that old elevation, we can have an almost normal yard..

It's looking real good. KB.

That dirt pile sends shivers up my spine. We leveled my front yard in San Dimas using only shovels. And that was a terrible idea. My back hurts just thinking about it.

Beautiful Shepherd. I always wanted a white one. They are great dogs and very good with kids.

Intruders...Not so much.

My thumb hurts so bad I can't play a single lick. Well, a single lick is all I can play. I can play a heap of one licks. Some might even be a chord. Random things do happen. My grandson doesn't play guitar but he's better than me

Hey Other Larry, guess what? Your area has a lot in common with mine. I remember you making a comment about what you'd be told about Harrison if you looked it up. I just learned a lot about my county

It's interesting what the authors of this stuff focus on Tim. BTW, Carroll County if the next county west of here.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

They really seem to focus on the racism. At least they give Harrison credit for change by telling about the award that one feller who was run out of town and came back. Can't dwell on this past if we want things to change. Got to focus on the positive at present. I never heard any of that stuff they told about my county. Or even my town! Around here they talk about an area north of here in Frederick County as KKK active. And some head cheese living in Rocky Ridge, in that county.

Lots of similarities. I'm looking at a place I'd like to buy in Boonesboro, MD. And Davis is one of the five original families of the Mt Airy area. Mt. Airy is a late bloomer in this area because it came about from the railroad coming about. The National Road passed over the ridge at what is now Mt. Airy, but when these five families settled it was called Parrs Ridge. A RR man came up with the Mt. Airy name because it gets so windy on the ridge.

I thought it was interesting to learn German was the prime language of this county until after the civil war.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Our local Kawanis Club has a raffle every year for a weekly drawing for a firearm. Last year I won a nice Ruger 22 Rifle. This year I won a little pocket gun.

Do you have a golden horseshoe up yo..... I was saying, congratulations. I used to go to a Ruritan gun raffle and this one guy seemed to win an awful lot. Of course we gave him a hard time about it

Re: My Facetruck thread.

oh, you're one of those guys that wins the raffle every year

those are handy little guns, I have a couple of them.. not pretty but they serve their purpose..

picked one up from a guy for $75 that was just a little banged up.. figured it would be perfect for a farm truck, tractor, tool box in the barn, etc..

I bought one in .380 back in 2014 and it's still in the box in the shopping bag I brought it home in

probably drop that one in my daughter's purse when she sets off to college
