2 year project question
Hey all well a few choices I have to make
I have the front control arms and new ball joints installed and the dif is re bearing and sealed. Now do I run brake lines and put in my calipers and wheel cyl or do I start on the body and leave the hyd. til last. The truck will not be ready for the road for about a year and a half or so The frame will be stored inside a shop but will things start to dry out by the time I am ready to drive it? Please share your point of view on how and what order you did your 2 year projects Thanks in Advance Mike

If you installed them and bled your brakes I don't see a problem. On the other hand I don't see a problem with waiting. I guess that's a lot of help, eh?

I don't think it really matters but personally I would go with finishing everything while you have easy access. I'm working my way from the ground up.

I would finish the frame off and get it out of the way. Can't really bleed the brakes without a MC hooked up. I don't see how brakes and stuff can dry out, if you are worried about them drying out put a layer of brake fluid or oil on.

i would do the brakes now while it's easier access
the other thing i've learned about my 2year projects is to allow at least 4 to 5 years to get them done

Very true, at least double the time you think it will get done in. |

if you do put all the brake stuff on now DO NOT put brake fluid in and bleed the system you can bolt everything on just leave it empty. when brake fluid sits in one for long periods of time it does bad things to rubber hoses seals and so on swells them and will basically eat them away.

I can't see how the fluid will harm the system. My truck has had brake fluid in it for 32 years.
