windshield washer ?

My son just bought a 98 3/4 Ton 4WD truck for his daily driver and the windshield washer doesn't work. We checked the voltage going to the pump and when you hit the switch on the turn signal arm you aren't getting +12 VDC to power the pump. We jumpered +12V from the battery to the pump and the pump is good. Everything else works, wipers, cruise, turn signals. Is there a relay somewhere or is the switch itself bad? Looks like a PITA to replace it?

Old Dave Take Your Vin Number To A Dealer And Ther Should Be A Recall On The Control Mod. If Not There Is A Easy Fix For It. First If Turn On The Wippers Tap Or Knock On The Control Mod Which Is Attached On The Wipper Motor Its Self. If The Wipper Come On I Will Tell You How To Fix It.

NAPA sells replacement wiper control modules, as does your local dealership. It is debateable as to whether or not the dealer will replace yours. They sent out notices, but it was too late for mine....I'd already changed it. On my son's, who was overseas, they said he waited too long. So, good luck getting GM to fix it. The module is "plug and play" so to speak. Just get some good silicone sealer and use it on the cover to prevent moisture from getting in and fouling up the new one....

This is the washer that is not working, not the wipers. They work OK. Is the washer controlled by the wiper control module you are referring to?

Yes The Control Module Does Work The Washer Pump. What I Have Seen Is Bad Or Cold Solder Joints On The Board. It Would Not Hurt To Solder The Board. Look For Burned Resistors I Have Seen That Before.
