1986 dash clock wire question
hi,
I am in the middle of a LS swap in my '86. My question is about the wire conn. to the instr. cluster dash clock. I am wanting to know what the electrical properties of the orange wire is. I think (?) that it is a constant power on wire from the fuse block? ..is this right? I would like to re purpose it once I know what the power properties are for it..... excuse my lack of correct electrical terms... !!! moderators please feel free to move this if deemed not in the right forum. thanks!! rodstored-72 |

Re: 1986 dash clock wire question
It is constant. What are you trying to re-purpose it for?

Re: 1986 dash clock wire question
If you look at the fuse block, 2nd row from the top (well, kinda sorta, double check with a volt meter) you'll see a cavity with a connector deep down (an uninsulated 1/4" male spade terminal will fit right in there, just make sure you put it between the fingers) labeled ACCY. That'll be a switched 12volt point.
Another handy spot, 12volt switched line off the radio harness. Just be mindfull of current draw of what you are adding. Alex. |
