I am torn, I feel the need to do a 3-5 drop on rally wheels but I can't bring myself to do it.

A 3-5 drop can easily be removed. I say do it, it's your truck.

I really like your truck and have a strong appreciation for ones that are all original. I think these trucks look good when they are MILDLY lowered.
Here are pictures of the '64 I'm working on. Drop spindles in front and 3" drop springs in back. I like the way it sits.

I would leave it alone. I love stock ride height. It is a truck afterall, not an aerodynamic race car. I personally just don't like lowered trucks. I appreciate the work and all that goes into it, but when I am at a show and see a beautiful truck that is lowered, it takes away from the look to me.

However, everyone likes different things and if you are curious with it lowered do it...but I think your truck is perfect as is. Good luck with the decision.

I would -recommend- leaving it stock.

I would -always- lower my vehicles.

You gotta do what matters most to -you-; it doesn't matter what others think.

People have been lowering there vehicles for over 50 years and it still has not gone out of style. I don't expect that to change any tine soon. I would say lower it, just keep all the old parts.

Im with Spudder, 3/5 is a pretty hard slam and it's going to have an effect on your shocks, shock angles,
pinion angle, and track bar. I did my longbed with a 2/4 kit and the shock relocators required grinding the rivets out of the old ones. I did my shortbed with a 1.5/2 inch spring drop and added a 1" block in the rear with longer U bolts. That way my rear shocks only felt the 2 inches from the springs which didn't require any mods. Edit: I would stick with the same wheels if I was doing it though.

That is one thing I won't do is alter shock brackets, maybe it is time to build a twin turbo original paint 73-79 round eye square. I did get the hood repaired from someone walking on it during the round trip to Saudi Arabia.

Why spoil a nice truck, its your truck, your decision, but lowering a truck just makes it look silly. The rally wheels wouldn’t do much for it either.

I posted earlier showing the stance of drop spindles and 3" drop springs. Love that look, but I think your truck is just too "pure" to change, it's too nice to drive and enjoy!I can't imagine how much time you have in the restoration. I like everything about your truck, especially the options.

I don't mind the all original look but I find that the skinny rims and tires make the truck look kind of weak. You could get wider rims and tires and keep the original hub caps, maybe?

No offense intended, but if you want more of a custom vehicle, hack up a square body.
Go full lowered, cool wheels, LS.....the whole shot.
