I do believe that the measurement is 27.5 inches. I have it written down and I also have the bare frame to verify. Will double-check tomorrow....

Well, we've been having lots of rain here. I stepped out for a minute to see if I wrote down the centerline on the frame and I had the scribe mark, but the number washed off (darn chalk). the scribe line is lined up with a 1/2" hole ont eh top of the frame, which lines up with with the right-most hole of the 3 triangulated holes on the side of the frame. Once the swamp dries some in the back, I will get another measurement.

Re: Front Axle Center Line?

Can anyone help me with a 1953 chevy 1/2 ton?
I am looking for a measurment from the front end of the frame horne to the front axle centerline. Same problem no front axle. I am guessing about 19" but I would like something more accurate before I weld in the crossmember & hats !!!

Thanks

Re: Front Axle Center Line?

Solid, When I did dads truck we used the Heidts front end setup and I think it was 18 3/4 from the center of front spring mounting holes. If I make it down there this weekend I will verify if you would like.

Re: Front Axle Center Line?

factory assembly manual has all this info and the reproductions are worth the $20 bucks, a truck bible everyone should have when building a AD or TF!
