Truck pulls to the right?
Recently, my 83 half ton has started to want to pull off to the right a bit. It seems to be worsening?? What part up there gave up on life?

During driving is what I'm concerned about. It continues during braking, but doesnt get worse I dont think.

Ball joints/tie rod ends loose, caliper stuck/sticking, wheel bearing tightening up on right side (cotter pin missing) Tie rod bent causing too much toe-in, rear drum stuck/sticking or even the entire rear axle is crooked in the truck (center pin broken).............how's that for a place to start?

well the very first place to start would be to check the tire pressure , and to check for wear on the treadpattern. jacking the front onto jackstands and checking that both tires freewheel with the same effort would be next and while you're at it check the rotors and brake pads for uneven wear.

Most times on these trucks, the idler arm gets worn.
Push and pull on it with your hand to check for play. New arm and you're good to go.

a difference in castor is usually what causes them to pull one direction or the other. You just need to find out why it changed, all of the sudden........like ball joints or upper control arm bushings.

Is it a hard pull or drift? The most common pull problem I see managing a firestone is radial pull.(usually from competitors tires....lol) To verify this cross the front tires to see if the pull changes direction, but I could'nt agree with the fellas more lots of things can cause drifts/pulls. Tire pressure,worn front end-parts, incorrect align settings, sticking calipers even a bad gear box.
