I to like the outside sunvisor. I wanted a different look so I mounted, welded and blended in my outside visor, why you ask? NO particular reason other than to see something different. And NO it is not any noisier at highway speeds (or faster). If you need to see the traffic lights, just stop a little farther back is all.

I think its just being in the right place at the right time - I've been looking for years. I have 2 TF project vehicles - found the one visor I have in a junk yard and took it off a truck and gave $25 for it. That's not going to happen these days. The repos are a terrible fit!

Ya I hear you. I missed on a NOS one in a box on eBay a couple years ago at $500..

I got my visor at BowTie Bits IIRC and it fit up OK. NOS parts for my truck was never a concern to me, but now you guys got me wondering what is the difference in my aftermarket one and a NOS one. Can you tell the difference when it's installed?

The Sun visor on my '59 was made, so I believe, in ..... South Africa (that country at the bottom end of Africa where Mandela comes from)!! Mine seems quite a bit larger than the ones fitted to USA trucks.

Mine is fitted with its original 235 + 3OTT. I did fit a 3.15 rear axle for longer legs.

I find that the wind howl becomes quite audible/intrusive at around 65mph and this is also where the 235 runs out of options against the wind resistance.

I like the visor myself, my truck came with one made of fiberglass. I bought a steel one years later, haven’t installed either one yet. Do these just use screws? Is there a gasket?

No gasket, just a few screws that hold it directly to the lower front of the cab. You most definitely need a helper to get it started. Hold it in place and mark the center line on the cab and on the visor. I used a Sharpie. Then without letting it move mark one of the center screw holes. Drill the hole and then put the visor in place, and install that first screw. I then worked outward drilling and installing the screws. My windshield was not installed which made it easier.
