I am installing a booster with the brackets and the complete rod to the pedal right now for power drum brakes on my sb 70.
The rubber sleeve on the new rod has crumbled to pieces.
Do i need the rubber sleeve?

I did mine without the rubber sleeve and I haven't noticed any problems. Hope this helps.

I had to run mine to the base of the carb. You could also look for a fitting on your intake.
