Question Short/Fleet bed measurements

Greetings all! I had previously posted a thread requesting the measurements of a short/fleet bed. Would anyone happen to know the dimensions from inner bedrail to inner bedrail, and outer to outer (both width, and length)?? There is a fiberglass lid for sale locally (cheap), for a full size shortbed. My bed is currently in pieces so I can't measure it. Again, this is for a short/fleet....Enjoy your 4th of July weekend!!!!

I just went out & measured my short fleet and it is 66" wide (inside) X 76 9/16" long (inside) and is 71" wide (outside) X 79 1/2" long (outside). One thing to keep in mind is the stake pockets (on the rear) are not 90 deg. square on the inside next to the tailgate. If you look at the rear part of your boxsides and look directly down at the rear stake pockets you will know what I mean. Hope this helps, later Doug

Not to upstage the other reply, but here they are from the April 1, 1969, Truck Data Book, for sales people. This is more data than you asked for.

Inside height of bed (to top of bed) = 19 1/2 inches; Inside length = 78 1/4 (SWB) and 98 inches (LWB); Width of bed = 66 inches; width between wheel houses = 50 inches. From the diagram, it seems that the distance between uprights, when the tailgate is open, is the 66-inch measurement.

From the bed floor to the top of the cab = 43 inches for Fleetsides. If it is a stepside, the measurement is 43 1/4 inches.

The height from the ground to the top of the cab is 70 inches, with the distance from the ground to the lowered tailgate coming in at 27 1/4 inches (this would be the lift-over height, if you're loading it).

Overall length for SWB is 188 1/2; for LWB it's 207 3/4 inches.

Overall width is 79 inches.

The distance from the front of the bumper (if you had a vertical line drawn) to the centerline of the front axle is 33 1/4 inches.

The distance from the same vertical line to the back of the cab is 106 1/4 inches, for both long and short wheelbases.
