Just got all my parking brake cable assembly out to reinstall.
I can't figure out where the spring in the photo goes. Please help?

Re: ID part please

It's the self-adjust lever return spring - pic below for reference and orientation (from a C20, but same location/function on most brakes).

So, is the SA return spring still present on your rear brakes? I only ask because it is very possible you removed the spring to get at the parking brake cable attach point when you removed the p-brake cables. If it's still there and you also have this extra spring, then I agree it's a head scratcher.

I have never had the drums off the axle. I assume the return spring is still there.

It's definitly smaller than the hood latch. I should have put a ruler in the photo.
