Another C50 to C10 question
I've searched this topic but I haven't found a lot of info that has been helpful to me. Can a C50 cab be used on a C10 frame and use C10 front sheet metal? I'm aware of the firewall differences, rocker panel and lower front pillar bobbed off w/ no lower fender bolt provision. The mounting points for the cowl panel and upper part of the fenders looks to be the same between the 2. Trying to figure out if it could work or not and if not then why? Any info appreciated

Re: Another C50 to C10 question
The bottom fronts of the doors are cropped to clear the fenders - maybe the A pillar on the cab is also contoured to where it’s not a direct swap? Would be nice if the doors were a direct swap.

The doors are a direct swap except for the cut corners. I have C40 doors on one of my trucks now. A friend of mine and I also put a complete floor out of a C50 in his '69 4x4 with the only modification where the floor meets the toe board. I would think the front clip would be a lot of work though. I'm sure, like everything else, a guy could do it with a lot of work cutting and welding. Re: Another C50 to C10 question
By direct swap I meant without metal fabrication work involved

Understand. The thing is, the C40, 50, 60 doors are usually in really good shape because the trucks typically aren't on the road as much and they sit so high. That makes it worth the bit of work to add the corner to me... LockDoc

Re: Another C50 to C10 question
LockDoc, When you mention a lot of work to get the front C10 sheet metal to fit the C50 cab is where I’m having trouble understanding. I know there would have to be some sort of mount made for the lower part of the C10 fender to bolt to. Wouldn’t the top 2 holes on the C10 fender bolt to the cowl where the C50 fenders were bolted to?

I don't have a clue but there is a lot of difference from the dash forward. I think the hood hinges are different, core support brackets, inner panel, Etc. If you have all the parts why don't you try it and document what you find out. LockDoc

Re: Another C50 to C10 question
Well that's why I'm trying to find out this info. I have the C10 and need another cab. I don't have the C50 but have ran across one that has a really solid cab that the man would sell.
