Update on gas tank...
The gas cap mod I did a few weeks ago. I also ordered a new sending unit for it that has the vent tube. I ran fuel line over to the passenger side cab and up into the top then back down out the bottom to the frame. I drilled 2 holes to run a tie wrap around the hose to hold it in place. It should get the smell out of the cab I hope.
I may end up running it to a charcoal canister but haven't yet. I got the new 453 GenTx mirror installed in the 71 today also. It's a Nissan mirror with Home Link, auto dimming, compass & temperature readings. I even found a easy way to change the read out color to red to match the truck.

Re: Update on gas tank...
Thanks, I'm hoping it works. I filled it up last night. Going out and check it here in a little bit to see.

Re: Update on gas tank...
If you keep it in a garage closed up, you'll want to add that charcoal canister. Though my case might have been worse as my garage is attached to the house and the fumes worked their way through the wash room and into the hallway for that part of the house. It totally clears it up and I can hardly seem any fuel vapors in the garage and zero in the washroom.
I do like that idea of the mirror - I'd love to see a wider shot to see how it looks overall in the cab (how out of place does it look?).

Re: Update on gas tank...
Just went out side. The ramp truck is to long to park inside my garage. It sits outside. The smell was barely noticeable this morning but it's still there but nothing like it was. I filled the tank up good last night also. I re wired the sending unit also, didn't like the little pig tail on it.
As far as the mirrors I like them. They are hardly noticeable with the upper tint on the windshield and the wiring is hidden. I have one in the 71 c-10, Ramp truck and my 64 SS Impala. The 71 & Impala have the garage door mirrors and the Ramp just has the Temperature & compass since it sits outside but I do have the separate home link mounted in the drivers sun visor though.

Re: Update on gas tank...
hmm, I may need to do that too. I'd love to have the homelink - do you have a thread/posting how you did the power wiring?
