Steering shaft spline
I have a 1970-72 Monte Carlo tilt column.
I can't take the column out of my truck till I get it in the garage. Did g.m. use the same spline type/count/size shaft. across the board? I know the M/C one will have the key on the unit. and wiring will be different because of that. Any reason this can't work in the truck. The going price of rebuilt g.m. truck tilt columns is a hard to swallow pill. |

Re: Steering shaft spline
What is the spline count on the M/C shaft?
If I remember right the truck is 36 splines. Here is the one I ordered for the ramp truck tilt steering. Ensun 3/4"-36 Spline x 3/4" DD Nickel Plating Single Steering Universal U-Joint, Maximum Working Angle: 35° Degree, Total Length: 83mm (3-1/4")

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
