The above pictured 72 4wd 4 speed trans shift lever would be the same but the transfer case shift lever was specific to 69-70 manual or 69-70 auto trans and was centered in trans tunnel cover while the 71-72 style transfer case shift levers fit both transmissions and were offset to the right hand side of tunnel cover. See our below saved file pics showing the difference in bends on the early vs later NP205 t/c shift levers, it may be easiest to look at your 69 4wd to compare and note differences also. Mel

Yes, the 71-72 NP205 transfer case shift lever fits both manual and auto transmissions, was same lever for both models, will get you some pictures this morning. Mel
