Buyer Beware! 1972 Chevrolet K10 4X4
This truck is currently being offered on EBay for the “Buy It Now” of $48,500. Truck is presented as a rare Cheyenne Super K10. Buyer Beware the truck is more likely a clone and should be represented by the seller as a clone.
Truck was previously offered on Bring A Trailer and received a high bid of $39,250 as well as lots of questions in to the authenticity of the truck. SPID is not an original SPID. Door jamb VIN plate doesn’t have the correct rosette rivets. Driver’s side “Super” emblem is in the wrong location. Multiple interior items including the transfer case shifter shaft appear incorrect for a Cheyenne Super. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevro...edirect=mobile

I would have thought that the AC dash ball sockets would have been body color but not for sure ? The rosette door jam placard rivets are available for $15.00 ea. For his " asking price " This person could have done a bit better job. even the font on the spid is not correct.

Re: Buyer Beware! 1972 Chevrolet K10 4X4
Dash A/C sockets pretty sure came from factory same as overall dash color. Not having A/C in my truck I'm no authority on that for sure. SIPD label for glove box is definitely NOT original and as stated, wrong font. No listing in the Wheel Base box of the SIPD. Incorrect transfer lever, looks like it is from a newer square body lever. May be a nice clone but too many items are incorrect for an actual 72 K10 Super 4x4. Not worth that kind of money.

The truck could be legit with an inaccurate restoration. I can't believe what these trucks are going anywhere near for. I can't believe that truck didn't go at $39k. Just too unreal for me to fathom

Re: Buyer Beware! 1972 Chevrolet K10 4X4
I guess someone didn’t pass English class either... look at the rear chrome bumber...
Also if your going to BS a spid, at a minimum, do some research and put options on the truck that are A) actually on the truck(no factory front stabilizers(sway bars) on 67-72 K trucks, or even added to this truck that I Can see). B) figure out which options are included in the Cheyenne super trim and don’t add them to spid, (chrome front bumper, cargo light) and C) atleast make an effort to put the options in a similar order that the factory did... that’s just the tip of the iceberg on the spid, that is NOT 558 paint, those are NOT DG4’s... What the hell are Sport RV mirrors anyway?? Posi mentioned but not listed etc.... the good thing is it atleast is on a 72 4x4 frame(drivers front spring hanger has the strap welded across it) it’s a nice looking truck but I see it as total BS for what it’s being pushed as. That’s a 15K truck at best with out any more documentation and the flaws that are present. Somebody will pay out the butt for it though watch. My 72 K20 is a Cheyenne and has original black AC vents so that’s not too far out of the norm, I know I’ve seen several on here like that.

It's a shame people sell trucks on eBay as CHEYENNE SUPERS knowing
They are not.... |

don't even get me started...
Forget the price, the rivets alone are reason enough to walk away (briskly). |

That overspray/sloppy paint masking around that VIN plate is enough to turn me off.
Worth half what he's asking on a good day.

Odd that almost 40k was not taken from final bidder at BAT. You can contact final bidder at BAT to make a deal. Yes, not original. Builder obviously not an expert on the details of these trucks, but may be a somewhat decent clone or "tribute" as referred to now. Guessing owner did not build it on their own and has to much money into it.

Re: Buyer Beware! 1972 Chevrolet K10 4X4
So many details wrong on this one...The paint quality looks OK in the pics, but who knows? I agree that it's a $20k-$25k truck on a great day.

Re: Buyer Beware! 1972 Chevrolet K10 4X4
If you look at the sellers ebay feedback profile as a seller he's been flipping cars and trucks for a long time with good reviews .
https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_p...p2047675.l2560 He's only owned it the LAST 300 miles , is it real ? who knows . It's a real quick rehab and flip for sure . he says the title matches the vin tag , What about the frame ? An in person look could solve all the questions but with that rivited vin tag I wouldn't buy it on line . https://youtu.be/86xXwD_Wd10 start video at 3:42 he says in his ebay video it's not built to be a factory Super Cheyenne .
