Re: 72 Plaid Sub
👍🏾 Lookin good! Did you actually find a lift gate clean enough to go right into prep/paint with? I saw your original was pretty rusty, but don't remember seeing a good shot of the replacement.

Re: 72 Plaid Sub
I wish! LOL. I don't think there's a hatch or gate out there in that good of condition anymore. I had to rebuild both inside corners of the hatch, and a couple of other small patches. As for the gate, I had to re-skin most of the outside. It had been hit before I got it and had about 1/2" of body filler in it.

You're probably right about the hatches - I was thinking maybe you had the connect. Strong work on the repair though! It's looking 🔥🔥🔥 to me! How are you feeling about the decision to paint it yourself? Any new thoughts?

Prep for paint has been a ton of work for 1 guy, but it's going good so far.

Re: 72 Plaid Sub
Your project looks amazing! Building a burb is like building 2 trucks at one time...

Re: 72 Plaid Sub
Damn, looks like it's been almost 5 years since my last post here. Well, I've been enjoying driving and showing the burb for about 2.5 years now. Maybe I'll pick up where I left off and continue the build thread??

Re: 72 Plaid Sub
Read thru the entire post, beautiful work. I looked you up because I knew the Suburban looked familiar. I’m the one that you contacted about the seatbelts. Looking forward to to helping out with the build.
