Re: Not sure where to post this

Was that just sitting on the trailer with no straps? That stinks. I had a friend ask to borrow my trailer to pick up his sons first car. He tows a travel trailer regularly so I figured he could handle it. When I gave him the tie down straps he asked what they were for….

Re: Not sure where to post this

Expanding the photo there isn't a sign of a tow strap one on the truck or trailer.

If it wasn't sitting in the drive though lane at the Walmart it looks like it could have happened when they were loading it. I've seen that happen before including when my boss ran his dirt track car up and over the trailer like that when he gunned it too much when he was putting it on the trailer. He had to get one of his buddies with a wrecker to pick up the front end to get it squared away but made it to the races that night. When I got to work on Monday the trailer had a roll over bar on it. That was the first thing I did to my trailer even before I put the winch on it was install a roll over bar.

Re: Not sure where to post this

Walmart parking lot, someone may have stolen his tie down straps.

My boss's son took his 69 Camaro convert to the Winternationals in about 1974 and someone stole the ramps off the trailer while they were in a restaurant having breakfast in Pomona. Trailer ramps get real expensive when you are a Texas drag racer with a former Lingfelter car at the Winternationals.

Gut wrenching, but I guarantee you they'll never make that mistake again.

Stopped at the light and his cargo kept moving.

I had that happen with an S10 Blazer while I was towing it to the junkyard. The nylon ratcheting strap I used failed due to chafing on a frame rail. I didn't realize that had happened until I tried stopping at the bottom of the hill. From that day forward I only use chains.
