3 on the tree to 700R4 help.....

I have come to realize I am not going to be able to completely finish my 71' SWB project before this coming winter so I am going to go ahead and swap out the 3 on the tree for a 700R4 tranny. Also plan to install an auto tilt. I need help in all the basic steps for thios swap. I have already purchased the stock auto crossmember and need to know from the pro's the best and necessary steps to get this swap done. 1st...where's the best place to buy the 700R4? I need detailed instructions on the rest. I'm a tile contractor and unless it takes thin-set and grout...I get a little lost so bear with me. I'm thinking there must be a few more members that are wanting to do this swap and would love a step by step or dot to dot instructions. I did do a search prior to posting this and didn't find too much. If I missed it, sorry...maybe just post the link, Thanks Guys!!! Here's the truck in it's painted but unfinished awaiting it's completion and 700R4 swap!

i have done the swap already mine was also a 3 on the tree but i built my own trans. the swap wasnt hard at all in my opinion. when i had my engine out i mounted the trans to it and i put it in as one unit. then with the trans floating off of the engine i slid the x-member in-place bolted it to the trans and made sure it was square and then marked the holes for the bolts to go through.... then i pull the x-member back out and held the trans with a jack drilled the holes and slid it back in and bolted it all up...... wasnt hard just took time to make sure everything was square and were it was supposed to be.... i put in a b&m shifter though so i cant help you with the tilt auto. best of luck though just make sure your measurements are correct!

We just did one and used a IDIDIT manual tilt column and the LOKAR floor shifter with digital shift boot.
