Got the Cab media blasted.

So I finally got the cab, fenders, door, and the cowl media blasted and boy did it expose a lot more body work. The fenders had a lot of body filler hidden behind the paint. Repair cost just went up. The body shop guy does great work. He'll repair the fenders.

I remember when I got my cab and front clip back from the soda blaster. My thought was, "What did I get myself into?".

The blaster said I had a really nice cab. I had to do the corners, inner and outer rockers, kick panels, some of the floor. My thought was if this is a nice cab what does a ruff one look like.

How is cleaning all the media out of the seams like. A lot left over that seems to keep coming from all over?? or does it go completely away with compressed air

I didn't see any media left anywhere.

That's what I'm worried about. Dont know how they get it all out, especially because it flies up the back of the cab under the window in that void and on the sides into the roof...

I still see sand come out of those areas after moving my cab around and ive done probably 15% of the surface area on the lower side.

Contemplating a strip disc over the blast path... or 90% strip disc and only use blasting where I cant get with the disc or a 2" rollock. Having finished pillars/corners/rockers I am very hesitant because the sand is going back into the rocker & then what..

That's why I asked. I had a friend years ago that had his cab blasted and he spent months trying to get all the media out of all the nooks. Every time he ran any type of air across it junk came out. It was a nightmare for him during the priming and painting. In the end it all came out looking great, but it was a challenge

I didn't find it that difficult to get the sand out of my cab. Compressed air and a leaf blower from multiple directions some at the same time worked well. Didn't have any problem with any reappearing during paint. I did use the eastwood rust encapsulator with the long wand in the roof and the appropriate areas inside the bottom of the cab and rockers.
