Scout II project
Hi all its been a long time since I have visited here always good to see what's happening in the Chevy/GMC world. I didn't realize this forum had an "Alternate" area. So I figured I would show a project I picked up back in 2019. Since I haven't changed anything on my GMC, and wanted another project, I picked up this Scout II. It was one of the vehicles I have had on my build list for a very long time and if I had ever come across one it was next. I'll just post a few pics. It is a 1978 with a 345 International engine. This project has been a total frame off restoration and none of the work was farmed out . The engine block was the only thing I sent out for machining. I have a ton of in-between pics of the whole process showing all the metal fab and body work it went through and paint process, still not done, but are we ever.

Re: Scout II project
I had one of those. Fun vehicle off road. I couldn't open both doors at the same time or you couldn't close them without a jack. The flexing body made it an incredible off roader.

Re: Scout II project
I've been told the rust option was standard at no extra charge

Re: Scout II project
My wife, surprisingly, really likes the Scout II. I told her we might be able to find some rust holes being held together in the shape of a Scout on our budget.
Very nice, by the way.
