Brake lights not working

Hey guys I'm trying to get my brake lights working. The truck has all nee wiring, aaw factory style. New brake light switch. New grounds. I've added ground to the brake light buckets as well. They won't work. I have headlights and taillights but can't get anything else to work. Any guidance on where to start would be great, wiring is not my thing

One easy check is, see if the twist lock on the housing is keeping the bulb up against the wire connection . I bought new housings from LMC and as soon as there’s pressure from the mounting screws the bulb pops out just enough to loose the connection, very frustrating. May not be your issue but it’s a check off.

Check for power to the stop light switch. Orange should be hot all the time, white goes hot when you push the pedal. The white wire goes up the column to the turn signal switch. The yellow and dark green wires on the switch send power to the turn signals in the back. When the switch is centered both should have power if power is in the white wire.

It sounds like you have good grounds since your tail lights work.

I had a problem with my brake lights not working because the contacts in my turn signal switch were all gunked up. A thorough cleaning of the contacts solved the problem.

No, turn signals are not working either.

Turn signals and the brake light are on the same circuit. I would unplug the harness under the dash and power up the circuit there to confirm the lights work.
If the circuit is good the issue it typically the switch at the brake like or in the turn signal switch in the column. Since the brake and turns don't work I would check the column switch/connections first.

I purchased a brand new pedal brake switch and it failed out of the box. China crap wouldn't work when it was new. I would have left the OEM installed but I needed the second set of contacts for the torque converter lock-up.

It may sound dumb, and I didn't notice it being mentioned, but due you have the correct (dual filament) bulbs installed. I have been goofy enuff before to put single element bulbs in the sockets. As mentioned, I would start with the turn signal switch. check for voltage going towards the back. Only other thing is the turn signal flasher relay.

If you have a volt meter you can check the rear wire harness connector plug. If you do a search you can find a wiring diagram and you can trace the wires. For my new wire harness they had me reuse the oem rear wire harness.
