Looking for headers, Best brand, best fit, and best style/type. Going on 72 c10 step side 350 motor

There are variables involved with header selection not to mention lots of opinions so it will be difficult to determine the "Best one".
If you give us your engines build configuration and your intended usage of the truck that will certainly help us get you headed in the right direction.
Cheaper headers usually end up needing work to actually achieve proper sealing. This usually can be avoided by buying quality ones at a significant price premium.
As headers are hand built one person's issues may not be a good representation of any particular brand's quality.

Engine is a 350 ci blue printed 365 horse from Summit. Normal driving. 350 tranny complete motor.

I am using Hedman 63890 long tubes on a 350 with the 67-71 BBC frame mounts and a 4L80 transmission. They installed pretty easily but I did make small dents on the #5 and 6 tubes to ease plug installation and removal. I also grinded the top of the flanges a bit because I am using plug wire holders that mount to the side of the heads, and not the valve cover screws. This motor also has AFR heads with straight plugs; I don't know if the raised exhaust port makes things better or worse over stock cylinder heads.

This would be the best universal answer to your original post. With an auto trans you are good with about any header for fitment. The next consideration is ground clearance on a low truck. So guys like to run 3/4 (mid) length headers, which don't work with manual trans due to linkage clearance. A quality full length header should be made to fit the vehicle well enough to keep the pipes above the bottom of the frame rails. Those Sanderson headers work for all that and are definitely quality made.
