Drove my old '69 C 10 to my son's today , prolly 10 miles round trip . Met a guy that gave me a thumbs up and two other guys waved . Rarely go anywhere that somebody doesn't comment about my truck and it's sure not in parade shape . Just wonder if this happens to you guys and gals also ? Thanks !

All the time. One memorable time: when I moved to Texas from Tennessee, I had my ‘62 Triumph Bonneville strapped down in the bed, cruising on I-20, when a grizzled guy on a Harley pulled up even with me, eyeing both the truck and the bike, gave me a sincere thumbs up, and hollered “67?” I nodded, he gave me another thumbs up and pulled away.

Always get a reaction or comment when I take the truck out. Men and women of different ages. Sure is a good feeling considering the Time and money I’ve invested. Even better on bright sunny days when the sunlight really shows of the Rainforest Green color. Or also known as Lime Rock Green. Really does pop in the sunlight.

I do too, and when I stop for gas , i usually have somebody walk up
with a big smile and want to know the story about it or have a compliment about it, sometimes i keep it in the the sideroom of the shop where i work, and its a constant conversation piece with the customers, always a big smile, and comments about how pretty or neat it is, and if i want to sell it..i always say thank you, but i have had it for 30 years, and its not for sale, its part of the family..its really neat to see the appreciation these old trucks get these days, when your out with them

A couple of years ago I drove my Longhorn to Waxahachie, TX to C10's in the Park.

My wife said "We are driving that thing?"

I told her it got more attention than a nice hot rod. She rolled her eyes. Every few miles someone would acknowledge the truck, and when we stopped I would be asked if it was for sale or some other conversation. On the second morning, I pulled in for gas and a guy asked if I would sell it. When I climbed back in I looked at her and smiled and she just shook her head.

Sounds like we all get the same reactions. I guess one of the reasons that we are drawn to these trucks is that they are so appealing. Last year my wife and I were in my truck at a traffic light when it decided to die on me. It wouldn't refire, quickly jumped out, opened the hood and discover I have no spark. Within 3 minutes there were 4 people getting out of their cars to help me. They blocked traffic and we pushed it into a parking lot. The whole time they were telling me what a beautiful truck it was, how long have I owned it, what year is it, etc? By the time I git it fired up again (points) there were a few more people hangin around. Even when they don't run they attract a crowd!

I have been pulled over twice. Each time by a different officer to compliment my 71 C10 long bed (original paint patina) and asking if to purchase it. I respectfully have turned down their offers.

Lots of waves, smiles, thumbs up and windows rolled down to ask what year and if I want to sell it.

I always reply, "how could someone sell a family member?"

No, but last Thursday, some doped-up college kid in a red import swerved across 2 lanes, cutting me off so I had to brake, then [he/she/it] made an illegal left. When I stepped on the brakes to avoid colliding, I missed my light.
So I gave him/her/it the Finger.

I get lots of comments on mine. One time I agreed to give a friend a ride to work and she said she didn't like riding in my truck because it was too old. I jokingly told her that everywhere I go it attracts a crowd. She laughed at that. But when I pulled in to drop her off, two guys standing outside her work complimented the truck and one asked if I'd sell it. She looked at me as she got out and said, "I hate you". She was just joking, but that day she learned that a lot of people really like these old trucks. She doesn't mind riding in it now.

50 miles every weekday. Every gas stop is met with curiosity and compliments. Not many drive a 50+ year old classic everyday. Sure, everyone claims to have an old car, but I never see anyone drive these.

Yep...and there is no getting away from any gas station USA without 20-30 minutes of conversations. I am always ready to accommodate them. Especially if kids are with them. If they are young enough, I ask if they want to sit in the truck and get a picture.

Always "What is a truck like this worth?" and / or "Is it for sale?".

Thumbs up, honked at, at traffic lights. People rolling down their window and wanting to chat. I watch some people taking videos of the truck while we are rolling.

All part of it.

An interesting observation...for 5 years I had the '70 Nova SS and the '78 Trans Am at the same time. The Nova would attract the older crowd along with their memories back in the day...Typically, car enthusiasts. The Trans Am attracted people of all ages and persuasions. And, of course, there was always the "My mother's uncle's girlfriend's cousin-in-law knew someone that had one just like it. Except it was a different color with bench seats and a 6 cyl." LOL!

Most don't have a clue what year these trucks are. I even have 1969 Texas Truck plates (front and rear) on mine and people always ask "What year is it?"

I have had corvettes, street rod, and other custom cars (some being very nice show cars) but my driver quality c10 gets more attention than any of them.

I had a friend with an early '60s Studebaker. When asked this question he would reply with the current year in a deadpan expression.

Yeah, OK. ''...Some Millennial kid in the Barrio Santa Rosa.'' An old neighborhood just south of Downtown Tucson. It's now in the process of much gentrification. Tho old locals are forced out by higher rents from new landlords. Their places are taken up by young, affluent 'hipsters.' A lot of the old skid row motels are being rebuilt as high dollar condos. I used to worry about my truck getting broken into for my tools. But parking was free. Now I worry about were to park. Alot of the renewals take conrtol over adjacent parking.

My wife has vanity plates that say NIKI67 and people still ask what year it is
