i have two 3 inch speakers mounted where the dash speaker is and 2 6x9s under the seat. doesnt sound to bad. as for the sub, either move your gas tank under your bed to free up some behind the seat room, or i think there is a solo barick(spelling?) that needs hardly any air space that you might beable to make a box for and stuff under the seat. as for the hole in the dash, you just need the deck sleeve to mark how big it is on the dash and cut nicely with a sawzall. my deck isnt as wide as the two knob holes so they will show out the side of the deck if you dont have a plastic beauty ring around it.

Ok, that's what I'm looking for. Someone who's done that and can recommend materials, dimensions, and attachement method for the under dash mounting of decent (but small) speakers. sbc406 - can you help?

Thanks...SSOW

well i found a set of new delco speakers in my dads shop and i took some machine screws and nuts and bolted them through the grill in the dash. not high quality speakers but they sound better than just the 6x9s, and not an incogneato mounting but you can only see it through the windshield. i can post some pictures later tonight if you would like.

I like fixes like that - practical and effective, not to mention cheap (the good kind). However, we're kinda sprucin' this one up, so we're looking for something similar to the factory setup...but I don't have one of those so I don't know how it attached. Anyway, a method that doesn't require putting hardware up through the dash sheetmetal or grille.

I was goofing around at the local farm & ranch store, and saw 4x8 sheets of white PVC in various thicknesses - 1/8 all the way up to 1/2 or so. Not sure what they're for, but I thought it might make a good base for this mount, if I can figure out how to hang it.

That's as far as I've gotten...SSOW

Has your truck already been painted? If it has not, I have a couple very nice doors with only a littlesurface rust that I can swap someone before they cut holes in there nice doors. Mine have the 4x6 holes (I think) in them that some else had cut.
